MY FACE ON A TUBE...

Postby Magus » Thu Jan 29, 2009 4:36 pm

With the obvious Middleman reference, the title says it all...
Throughout the Bellflower movie there are HEAPS of video screens and other than the obligatory "Fruity Oaty Bar" and "BlueSun Cola" commercial we want all original footage playing on these...
This is your last chance to be a part of "Bellflower"
... so WHO WANTS TO BE A MOVIE STAR!
Here's all you gotta do... Get 10 seconds of YOU on video...
Make a television commercial, or an on-the-spot news report, or a news anchor sitting at a desk, or scenes from a reality show, or whatever... Use your imagination... You don't need sound, just lots of flashy colourful video... Watch the Fruity Oaty Bar commercial a few times... hell, watch some REALLY low budget used car dealer type commercials... WE WON'T BE BEATEN ON PRICE! SALE! SALE! SALE! ON SALE NOW!!! ... You get the idea... but remember, this story takes place a few weeks before the events in the Firefly episode: "The Message"... so no imagery of things that may have occurred after that time - ie. don't do a news clip about a bar-brawl with someone looking very similar to River Tam kicking the crap outa some yokels...
We only need a video file that is 10 seconds long, no audio (you can add audio if you want, but it won't be used in the film)...

Here's the specs:

Length: 10 seconds
Video Type: AVI
Resolution: PAL widescreen, 720x576 (Pixel Aspect 1.4222)
Encoding: DivX / XviD / H264
File Size: Less than 50 MB

Pretty much any of the well known codecs are fine for compression... These aren't going to be ultra hi-res video screens, so we can get away with some pixelation... It's up to you really... and don't panic if you can only give us NTSC video, we'll convert it.

There'll be a page to upload your video files to us real soon... just keep watching this space!

Hey Joss, get the crew together and give us an Alliance line-up to use on "COPS: On The Rim"...

Lights, camera, action!

Awesome news, I hope we get plenty of great clips submitted. The 10 second/no sound format is ideal, gives everyone the opportunity to create something and have a bit of fun.

Where is the page to post the videos, and for that matter is it still even on? I do have a "anime" stile animation based off the image seen on the Fruity Oaty Bar lithograph but know ideer what to do with it.

I'm not aware if there is a page set up for this yet, perhaps tilk or Magus will have the correct answer.

What you could do is upload the video file to a free web host (something like rapidshare or mediafire) and then send a PM to tilk or Magus with the link.

It looks great! Will you be posting the entire 10 second to Youtube as well?

Are you one of the gunslingers featured in the clip? Don't forget to PM tilk or Magus with your details (for credits) and how they can get the video file in the requested format. You did a great job bringing the static advert to life, I hope that it inspires others to create their own clips.

Very nice job on the anime. It looked great! Personally, i didn't think the flash to the gunslingers worked well and I feel it would be better with out it.

I agree with you on this point. If the clip was to feature prominantly in the film I think the live action portion would detract from the animation but I guess that since these clips will only be background imagery I doubt the insert would be too noticeable.

I have to agree too, I added it hastily as a transition between the two segments. (Pretty cheep seeing how it just clipped it from a short movie I previously made.) I had originally intended it to be a animated fight seen, but that would be way over my head. If I come up with something better I plain to replace it.

Same question as above, do you still need more media? I'll make as much or as little as you need!
